I really should write this as a standard press release, thusly:
March 2, 2011 – “Nicole Poole of Thrift Store Confidential was named a 2011 Style Icon by Goodwill of New York/New Jersey earlier today…”
but I’m so damned excited about it I can’t focus. Doing funny dances, making little “woop” noises every few minutes, etc.
I work on Thrift Store Confidential because it feels good to give. Recognition is nice, but not the reason. Thrifting is so good for everyone; the community, the environment and the shopper, I’ll shout it from the rooftops whenever and wherever I can. To be recognized by Goodwill, who are to me the rockstars of the charity resale world, is mind-blowing. I do feel like Burt Parks just handed me a tiara and an armful of roses. It’s that special to me.
Anyhoo. Before I turn into Sally Field, here’s the post.
